BAKFISH Home Brewing Competition 2021

BAKFISH Brewing Company is holding the public tasting for their 2nd annual Home Brew Competition on Saturday, November 7 from 1 to 4 p.m.
The winner will have their beer brewed on the pilot system, and will be released on BAKFISH’s anniversary weekend. They will also receive a $50 gift certificate, plus the highest of fives from BAKFISH staff.

2. Brewers may use any yeast. You are allowed up to two entries to be turned in on the day of the competition (no bottling required).
3. Beers should be a Hazy IPA. They may include other additions (fruits, lactose etc.).
4. No rare or expensive ingredients. Everything should be available in a home brew shop or grocery store. You must turn in a recipe sheet to be eligible to win.
5. Judging will be by popular public vote on November 7th, as well as a panel of Beer Tasting Houston judges. Panel Blind Judging will be done the day of the event by 3-5 judges. All judging will be completed on November 7th.
6. The public tasting event will be on November 7th at BAKFISH starting at 1:00pm. Bring your beer that day with you. Brewers are recommended to bring 2 gallons of the batches for the club to taste on the day of the competition. BAKFISH will provide 2 ounce sample cups for people to sample your beer.
The Blind Judging winner’s beer will be scaled up and made into a commercially released beer. The brewer may participate in the brewing of the beer, naming of the beer and packaging of the beer. The brewer will receive 2 cases of 16-ounce cans of the beer and a $100 gift certificate to BAKFISH, plus respect and bragging rights.
