Family Camping Experience at Independence Park

Nothing beats a night under the stars!

The Pearland Parks and Recreation department’s Family Camping Experience is the perfect first overnight adventure for families looking to get in to camping. This program gives your family an opportunity to “rough it” without losing all their creature comforts. The campsite will be in a semi-lit environment with quick access to cars, running water, and bathrooms. It’s a great way to learn about what equipment and supplies are must haves, the best way to set up your campsite, how to Leave No Trace, and to ensure that the whole family is ready to take camping out into the wilderness.

Fun outdoor activities and the staple of camping, s’mores, will also be included. Parks will also provide dinner and breakfast. They also have some camping supplies that can be borrowed if needed.

Registration is $15 per person. All participants must be individually registered. All minors must have a parent or guardian over 18 registered with them in order to participate.
