18th Annual Red Hat Literacy Luncheon

It is with great excitement that the Adult Education Center announces the 18th Annual Red Hat Literacy Luncheon, “Welcome Back,” Thursday, March 31, 2022, at the Knights of Columbus hall in Pearland.

ABC-13 news anchor Elissa Rivas will serve as mistress of ceremonies, and Former NFL offensive lineman Shawn Harper will deliver the keynote address. Other event highlights include adult learner scholarship presentations, silent auction, raffle, exhibitors, delicious food, and live music.

The luncheon is the largest fundraiser of the year for the Adult Reading Center doing business as the Adult Education Center and welcomes more than 500 supporters from Brazoria County and surrounding areas. The proceeds from this event directly benefit our adult learners, contributing to quality instruction, employment preparation, and innovative technology. For more than 34 years, the lives of men and women with low literacy skills have been positively transformed, made possible by the generosity of donors, sponsors, and volunteers. The Red Hat Literacy Luncheon celebrates adult learners who strive to attain their education and career goals and supporters who are dedicated to making lasting change.
