SUMMARY:Family Fishing at the Delores Fenwick Nature Center
DESCRIPTION:Join Pearland’s Parks and Recreation team at the Delores Fenwick Nature Center on Saturday\, November 6 from 8:30 to 10 a.m. to learn how to get started with fishing basics and angler education. \nParticipants will learn how to tie fishing knots\, what bait to use to catch different types of fish\, how to properly cast and reel in a catch\, what local fish species can be found and fished for in Pearland. We will also talk about Texas fishing laws. This program is a great way for families to spend time together and can teach children a skill that they can use and expand upon for the rest of their lives. \nAll equipment and supplies will be provided. \nRegister before November 3 for $10 on the Pearland Parks and Recreation website. \n

SUMMARY:Miller Outdoor Theatre Presents 30th Annual Accordion Kings & Queens
DESCRIPTION:Texas Folklife is proud to present the 30th anniversary edition of Accordion Kings & Queens. Come out for an evening of dancing and roots music\, featuring the best of Texas accordion music genres\, including Conjunto\, Zydeco\, Cajun\, Polka\, and more. \nThe show will also feature the 2019 winners of Texas Folklife’s acclaimed Big Squeeze statewide youth accordion contest. \nThis is a ticketed event for the covered seating area. Free tickets are available (4 per person over age 16 while they last) at the Miller Outdoor Theatre box office the day of the performance between the hours of 10:30 a.m. -1:00 p.m. If tickets remain at 1:00 p.m.\, the box office will re-open one hour before show time to distribute the remaining tickets. As always\, open seating on the hill.
